Installed prices, side by side

These are the prices Dublin gas installers publish on their own websites. We re-read every page on 28 October 2026. "Installed" means the boiler, the fitting, the flue, commissioning and the RGI certificate. Where a page doesn't say whether VAT is in the price, we say so.

One Dublin price list, model by model

Borough Gas, based in Dublin 24, publishes a supplied-and-fitted price for the smallest boiler in each range. Every package includes a magnetic filter, heating inhibitor, chemical flush and a carbon monoxide detector. Bigger outputs in each range are "enquire" prices.

What the wider survey found

Our sister site Boiler Service Dublin checked 19 Dublin installers that publish a new gas boiler price. Each one's lowest package ran from €1,850 to €3,200, with a middle starting price of €2,499. The middle combi price across 8 installers was €2,640. VAT status is mixed, so see the full table on Boiler Service Dublin before you compare one number with another.

Why quotes for the same job differ

  • "From" prices. Most published prices are the smallest boiler in a range. A 4-bed house with two bathrooms needs more output, and that costs more.
  • Warranty. The same brand can carry 6, 7 or 10 years depending on the model. A longer warranty usually costs more up front.
  • VAT. Some prices include it and some don't say. Ask for the price with VAT.
  • The flue. A new flue route, or a vertical flue through the roof, adds labour.
  • Moving the boiler. A new spot means new pipework, a new flue and often a new gas run.
  • The state of the system. Sludge in old radiators may need a power flush rather than a chemical flush.

What a fair quote should include

  • Removing and disposing of the old boiler
  • The new boiler, its flue and the fittings
  • A chemical flush, a magnetic filter and inhibitor (many warranties need them)
  • Commissioning and the RGI completion certificate
  • Registering the warranty with the maker
  • VAT, stated on the quote

Dublin Plumbing & Gas says the same in its own guide: a written quote should include a magnetic filter, a chemical flush and the RGI certificate.

What usually costs extra

  • A power flush, where the system is badly sludged
  • Flue extensions or a new flue route
  • Moving the boiler
  • Taking out a hot water cylinder and attic tank (see system to combi conversion)
  • Smart heating controls, if they're not in the package

Keeping the new boiler's warranty

Most makers want the boiler serviced every year by an RGI to keep the warranty valid. Budget for that from year one.

Where these figures come from

  • We re-read each installer's own price page on 28 October 2026 and record only what the page says, with its date.
  • Where a page says the price includes VAT, we say so. Where it doesn't say, we write "not stated". We don't add VAT ourselves.
  • We don't use quotes, directories or reviews, and we don't estimate.
  • The survey figures are Boiler Service Dublin's, checked 22–23 October 2026. A range of prices from one firm is that firm's own range.

Questions people ask

How much does a new boiler cost in Dublin?

A like-for-like gas boiler replacement in Dublin typically costs €2,200–€3,300 fully installed with VAT, a new combi €2,500–€4,500 and a system boiler with a cylinder €2,600–€4,900 (GB Gas Services, 19 October 2026). Dublin installers' lowest published packages start from about €1,850.

Do these prices include VAT?

GB Gas Services' ranges (€2,200–€3,300, €2,500–€4,500, €2,600–€4,900) include VAT. Borough Gas and Dublin Gas Boilers don't say. Always ask for a written price with VAT.

Why is my quote higher than the published price?

Published prices are usually for the smallest boiler, in the same spot, with a standard flue. More output, a new flue route, moving the boiler or a power flush all add to it.

Is a like-for-like swap cheaper than switching to a combi?

Yes. Taking out the cylinder and attic tank is extra work. One Dublin firm prices a conversion at €3,100–€3,850, against €2,300–€2,950 for a straight swap.
